Laura Filipowicz
BLP, Founder
Bag Lady Promotions (BLP) is the brainchild of Laura Filipowicz, a self-taught successful jewelry designer, jewelry stylist and business mom. Laura has a degree in Communicative Disorders from San Diego State University and grew up in San Diego. Pre-baby, Laura worked for The County of Los Angeles and served under various capacities, from testifying in court for the Department of Social Service and The D.A.'s office, auditing non-profit organizations who helped Refugees entering this country, and grant writing and program coordination for Victims of Trafficking. The bottom line is, that Laura enjoys helping others. After several years of being a "mommy", Laura took her expertise and leadership skills and launched Bag Lady Promotions.


I'd like for you to know about me, who I am, and what I represent, because it goes hand-in-hand with what I do under Bag Lady Promotions. After becoming a mom in 2005, I found myself entering a completely different world than the one that I was use to - The Mommy World. I ran a small jewelry business during this time and along the way, I met other business moms looking to meet other women like them!

In 2008 , I decided to launch Bag Lady Promotions as a way to connect myself with other business moms and help other moms connect. I am happy to say that BLP has grown much more than I could have ever dreamed of! We have now added a Membership component to our site and are daily gaining visibilty. My goal is to help bring business moms together and establish a referal system within our own group. We also review products, services, and provide non-business moms with local deals, local activities, and interesting websites we run across during the month. BLP has become more than I expected and I am happy to be doing what I do!


Laura works out of her private studio in Los Angeles where she is also a full-time mom of a very fashion savvy five year old girl. Her motivation comes from her daughter, and her support from her husband & family, who have always believed in her and supported her in her business endeavour.


Jahnavi GoldStein
TWIYA Communications
Jahnavi Goldstein, president of TWIYA, is a communications specialist who focuses on public speaking preparation and training as well as media coaching for both individuals and corporations. She graduated with honors from the University of Miami’s School of Communication with dual majors in Advertising Communication and English Literature and a minor in Marketing. Jahnavi served in a marketing and strategic planning capacity in the non-profit sector and later as an Account Executive at a full-service California based advertising agency where she contributed to the award of several new business accounts. Jahnavi went on to obtain her law degree from Loyola Law School where she served as staff on the International and Comparative Law Review. She has been a practicing licensed California attorney since 2006 specializing in transactional entertainment, employment and corporate law. Jahnavi provides pro bono legal services via the Los Angeles Bar Association’s Domestic Violence Project, assisting victims of domestic violence to obtain legal protection from their abusers.

It was Jahnavi’s involvement in her local Toastmasters International public speaking club that triggered her interest in helping others to speak powerfully and confidently as she saw the difference that doing so made in her own life and those around her. Jahnavi is a Toastmasters International certified Competent Communicator and serves as Vice President of Membership for her local club, Beach Cities Toastmasters. She is also a member of the Los Angeles Professional Speakers Club and District One Speakers’ Bureau. Additionally she competed in and won the 2008 and 2010 Evaluation Contests at both Club and Area levels and serves as a Mentor to new members of her Toastmasters’ club and as a regular speech evaluator. Jahnavi is also a graduate of a CA Leadership Program and an active volunteer in her community. She regularly performs improv and stand-up comedy and incorporates aspects of these in her training.

Justin Krane, CFP®, CIMA®
President/Principal

Justin Krane founded Krane Financial Solutions in January 2008. Justin is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM professional. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from University of Colorado, Boulder, graduating in 1994.

Prior to founding Krane Financial Solutions, Justin was a Vice President, Investments, and Sales Manager at UBS Financial Services Inc., for 12 years, in Beverly Hills, California.

Justin has earned the designation of Certified Investment Management Analyst®from the Executive Education Department at the Wharton School of Business. He is also a Member of the Financial Planning Association, www.fpanet.org, the largest organization of professionals dedicated to championing the financial planning process. He is married, has two children, and lives with family in Calabasas, California. Justin is an accomplished athlete and was a former junior ranked tennis player in Los Angeles. He loves to cook, travel, speak Italian, and spend time with his family. Justin is also an active member in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Romy Schorr is a professional moderator and facilitator with over twenty years experience in marketing research. She also has a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, as well as a Bachelor's degree in both Psychology and Sociology. Currently, she owns and runs a full service qualitative marketing research and consulting firm called Schorr Creative Solutions, Inc. along with her husband and business partner Doug Schorr.

Romy has facilitated numerous workshops, seminars and educational programs and has moderated hundreds of focus groups on a wide range of topics. Kris Paden is a graduate of the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law where she graduated in the top 10% of her class and published a law review article. She was also a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Society and Traynor Honor Society.

Kris received her B.A. and graduated with honors from the University of California, Berkeley where she was President and Secretary of the Prytanean National Honor Society, assistant to the Vice President of Student Government, as well as a Parent Liaison and Rush Counselor for U.C. Berkeley's Sororities.

For 10 years, Kris practiced civil litigation, insurance coverage opinion law, and insurance bad faith litigation both in house for a well-known insurance company, and as a contract attorney for several prominent Los Angeles law firms. She also served as a summer judicial clerk in the U.S. District Court in Yosemite, CA.

Kris is licensed to practice in all California state courts, and the United States District Court for the Tenth District. She is a member of the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and a Notary Public.

From November, 2004 through January, 2006, Kris learned estate planning at The Law Office of Diedre Wachbrit. While at Diedre's office, Kris handled clients' asset protection matters, such as forming and maintaining LLCs, Corporations, and Family Limited Partnerships, and preparing tax and licensing documentation. Kris also participated in creating key estate planning documents such as wills, durable powers of attorney, advanced health care directives, HIPPA authorizations, grant deeds and community property agreements. She also researched tax, divorce, special needs children, and probate issues. She worked one on one with clients to administer trusts, establish and handle conservatorships, and educate them about their trusts and other estate planning documents.

Kris has lived in Los Angeles since 1994. She is happily married to David, and has a wonderful toddler named Evan.
